To be eligible, your school must be registered with IMEA as a participating Elementary School.  Elementary schools are required to register using the IMEA Registration/Nomination/Selection (RNS) On-Line System.  Please visit the District V Home Page, read and understand the detailed instructions for the RNS System, register your school on-line and nominate students to the Elementary Chorus.  When selecting nominees, please keep in mind good “citizenship” as well as leadership and musical abilities.

If you have never been to our festival chorus experience (for 5th and 6th grade students with unchanged voices) or it has been a long time, this year would be a good one to try us out.  We understand that budgets are tight. 

5 GREAT reasons to SEND students to an IMEA Festival:

• Motivate your students by giving them a bigger chorus in which to sing.
• Broaden their horizons by singing under other directors.
• Broaden their horizons by singing different music styles.
• Reward students for great behavior in your local chorus. 
• Reward students for excellent singing in your local chorus.

• Communicate, network with fellow directors.
• Read through some new music for your chorus.
• Receive a free packet of music.

There is NO fee for schools to get on our Elementary Mailing List.  Yes, students all over the state do need to pay a fee for participation.  Try to get your school to pay for it, because it will be a learning experience with direct connections to our Illinois State Standards.
