GOVERNMENT RELATIONS The Illinois Music Educators Association maintains a Government Relations Special Area in recognition of the fact that the current status and future position of music and the other Fine Arts is impacted by decision makers at the local, state and national levels. IMEA monitors legislative developments at both the state and national levels that affect music education in the schools. The following resources are offered to facilitate the involvement of IMEA members and all citizens who value the arts as basic in the "core curriculum" of Illinois schools.
