Audition Information:

Senior auditions are governed by the ILMEA state requirements found on the "divisions" pages of this website. However, there are specific District 1 audition procedures listed below for reference:

District 1 audition repertoire includes all of the following:

Choir programs in District 1 may only send the following numbers to district auditions:

  • -  32 singers total, 4 per divisi:

    4 soprano I

    4 soprano II 

    4 alto I 

    4 alto II 

    4 tenor I 

    4 tenor II 

    4 bass I 

    4 bass II

    -  These numbers are not flexible (you may not place more in one section and less in another)

  • -  Schools with choir programs that have enrollment of 175 or greater will receive a flex 8-

    please contact your choral reps if you feel you are eligible for this for further explanation

  • -  Only send students that are PREPARED for auditions. You should NOT aim to fill all 32 spots (the

    cap was specifically designed to reduce the number of auditions)

  • -  District choir representatives WILL check to make sure caps are not exceeded. Please help us

    make this first year with caps a success!
