District 2 Audition Material:

1.  Prepared music (40 points)
2.  Improvisation (20 points) Jamey Aebersold Vol 6, Track 1 - Now's The Time/Billie's Bounce 
     **ALL STUDENTS WILL IMPROVISE TWO CHORUSES OFF THIS TRACK
3.  Sight-reading (10 points)
4.  Stylistic Accuracy, Tone Quality and Intonation (30 points - 10 points per category)

PIANO AND BASS

1.  Prepared music (40 points)
2.  Improvisation (20 points) - Pianists should play self-accompanied solos, blues progression in the keys of Bb and F.  Bass players          should also play alone. 
3.  Sight-reading (10 points) - Includes both written out part and chord symbol parts. 
4.  Stylistic Accuracy (10 points)
5.  Rhythmic Stability (20 points)

GUITAR AND VIBES

1.  Prepared music (40 points)
2.  Improvisation (20 points) - Follow same procedure as jazz winds.
3.  Sight-reading (10 points) - Includes both written out part and chord symbol parts. 
4.  Stylistic Accuracy (10 points)
5.  Rhythmic Stability (20 points) - Demonstrate ability to comp in swing and rock styles

DRUMS

1.  Prepared music (40 points)
2.  Improvisation (20 points)  Drummers will demonstrate improvisational ability by playing a medium fast, swing drum solo in a 12 bar blues format.  The student should play four measures of swing followed by four measures of solo, going through at least two    choruses.
3.  Sight-reading (10 points) Test will include at least two styles: Swing, Rock, Latin
4.  Stylistic Accuracy (10 points)
5.  Rhythmic Stability (20 points) - Demonstrate Swing (fast and slow), Latin (samba and bossa), Brushes (medium swing and ballads) and Funk
