Each summer, Kidder Music hosts their Alfred School Choral Reading Session. The clinic give music educators an opportunity to see and hear some of Alfred's newest titles, and learn more about improving their programs with new instruction techniques. This year's clinician is renown choral conductor, composer, and clinician, Sally Albrecht.
Sally K. Albrecht has been the Director of School Choral and Classroom Publications for Alfred Music Publishing since 1989. An annual recipient to the ASCAP Special Music Award since 1987, Sally has over 325 popular choral publications in print, over 50 larger elementary songbooks and musicals, 14 choral movement DVDs, 3 cantatas, plus the top-selling books The Choral Warm-Up Collection and Rhythm Workshop.
Admission is free. Participants wishing to receive CPDUs who are not ILMEA members must pay ILMEA a $10 fee (on site) for CPDUs. Participants will receive a packet of NEW Alfred Chorals.

J.W. Pepper is sponsoring two days of hands on professional development experiences beginning with Monday, July 29 reading sessions with nationally known composers and clinicians Greg Gilpin and Joel Raney. The morning session features new music for middle school and junior high choral music while the afternoon session explores high school choral repertoire. The evening session from 6-9pm looks at sacred music for everything from special church occasions to adult and general music. This day also features a look at rehearsal techniques for better choral rehearsals.
Tuesday, July 30 is a full day of elementary music with a reading session and workshop hosted by Mari Schay. This day covers song collections, musicals, multimedia and tech-friendly plans to energize your general music and elementary choirs.
Educators can choose to participate in both days, one day, or half day sessions all with the option of receiving CPDU credit through ILMEA. A total of 9 CPDUs are available July 29 and 9 Credits again on July 30 depending on the number of sessions for which you register. The CPDU service is available free to ILMEA members. Nonmembers will pay a on-site fee of $10 per half day session and $15 per full day session.

Join the University of Illinois Band Faculty led by Dr. Robert W. Rumbelow in this two-day symposium focused on sharpening your skills and energizing your creativity. The symposium will include conducting, rehearsal techniques, repertoire, pedagogy, educational philosophy, and much more! Each year will be unique, so plan to attend this year!
Members of ILMEA can receive 7 hours of CPDU credit on Friday and 8 hours of CPDU credit on Saturday for participation in this symposium. Non-members can pay ILMEA (on site) a $20 fee (additional) for this documentation and record keeping.
