The 9/10 Chorus is open to any director in District 1 who wishes to nominate a balanced quartet (SATB) to participate in this ensemble. Information is below regarding repertoire (each school's responsibility to provide for their students. Logistical infomration will be posted with the Senior Festival information.
The purpose of this ensemble is to create an opportunity for ninth grade singers, who currently have no ILMEA District I high school choral opportunities. The Choir will be filled by teacher recommendation instead of audition. It is the teacher's responsibility to ensure that the students nominated are prepared for performance.
Each participating school can nominate a mixed quartet of ninth or tenth grade students (1 soprano, 1 alto, 1 tenor, 1 bass). If you school chooses to participate, you must nomincate a full quartet, unless your school is made up of all girls or all boys. In this case you may nominate the two voice parts available. If you have an additional tenor and/or bass, you may be able to add their names by emailing up to alternate names to Michael Popplewell at firstname.lastname@example.org. If there is space available, you will be contacted about the addition of those students. Billing procedures for those stduents will be communicated after those additions. (All Sophomores may be nominated if they are not participating in the District Senior Chorus).
