Submission Deadline: August 31, 2014
Types of Research Considered: Research studies employing qualitative, quantitative, mixed, philosophical, and historical methodologies will be considered for this session. Submissions of action research studies completed by music educators in their classrooms and rehearsal halls are encouraged!
Presentation Format: The author(s) of each accepted paper will be expected to be present at the 2014 Illinois Music Education Conference to discuss their project with other interested music educators during the research poster presentation, and should furnish 50 copies of the abstract and 10 copies of the completed report at the time of the presentation. Traditional posters as well as electronic displays will be permitted. Researchers choosing to bring electronic media are responsible for providing their own equipment and power supply/battery.
Paper-Reading Session: One or two papers will be selected for the research paper session held during the 2014 Illinois Music Education Conference. Please indicate in your email or on your cover sheet whether you are submitting for (a) the paper and poster session or (b) only the poster session.
Submission Guidelines: Prepare a Word or pdf file of the completed study, fronted by a 250-word abstract. 
Please do not include any identifying information in the completed study. Instead, save the file with a descriptive term from your title, without your name or other identifying information, followed by ILMEA (e.g., SightreadingStudyILMEA.doc).
In the body of an email or on a separate cover sheet, please include your name, institutional affiliation, address, email, phone number, title of the study, and name of the electronic file.

Note Regarding Ethics: Papers submitted for the conference must comply with the Code of Ethics as published in the Journal of Research in Music Education and online (www.nafme.org). Please disclose if the study has been presented elsewhere.
Notification Timeline: Notification of acceptance will be made by September 30, 2014. Contribution to the entire content of the conference program will be one of the determining factors in the final selection by blind review. If accepted, the session may be scheduled on any day, at any time, and in any location as determined by the Conference Planning Committee.
