Commercial Music - Soundtrack Composition Workshop

Introduce your students to the captivating realm of digital music creation with our workshop tailored for middle and high school students! Led by Dr. Lynnsey Lambrecht from Bradley University, students will delve into the art of crafting original soundtracks for movies, TV shows, and video games using their own technology. This event is a collaboration between ILMEA Districts 2 & 3, but is open to interested students from ANY ILMEA District!

Time: 8:30am start, 4:00pm showcase concert
Where: Bradley University campus in Peoria, IL
Who: 6th-12th grade students who are interested in digital composition.

HOW TO NOMINATE STUDENTS

You'll need to log into the nomination portal, and be sure that you have the correct school selected if you teach in multiple buildings.

Click "Custom Events" on the left hand side. 

Next, "Add a Custom Event Nomination" in the upper right hand corner. 

Then fill out your students' information and select Soundtrack Workshop

"Rankings" will help us select your students if we have too many nominations for an ensemble. Please choose a different ranking for each student that you nominate.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

What devices will students use?
Students are encouraged to bring their own music-making devices, headphones, as well as any small instruments they may wish to bring.

What are the requirements?
Students should be enrolled in 6th through 12th grade. There are no auditions for this workshop. We are expecting students with a variety of musical experiences.

What will students be doing?
Dr. Lambrecht will lead students through creative composition activities. Student musicians will collaborate to create a soundtrack for a short film or video. We will stitch clips together to create a final composition with a video to present at the showcase.

How will students showcase their work?
We will host a showcase concert at 4:00pm in the Marty Theater on the Bradley University campus. Students will show off their creative work from the day.
